EQUITY defended the interests of a famous film maker in the High Commercial Court of Ukraine

EQUITY has successfully defended the interests of a well-known Ukrainian film company SOTA Cinema Group in its dispute with the Ukrainian State Film Agency in the High Commercial court of Ukraine.

The subject of the legal action concerned claims of the Ukrainian State Film Agency to terminate the agreement on production and distribution of On Saturday film produced by Oleh Kohan, the owner of the film company. The Ukrainian State Film Agency also demanded collection of damages in the amount of over UAH 16 million.

The last decision of the High Commercial Court of Ukraine closed the chapter in the number of court disputes initiated by the Ukrainian State Film Agency with regard to two films — On Saturday and Heart on the palm of the hand, produced by SOTA Cinema Group, totally for the amount of about UAH 25 million. In September of 2014, the Kyiv Commercial Court made its decision in favor of the film producer in the disputes regarding the two films.
