EQUITY lawyers participated in a roundtable discussion entitled «The Return of Raiding: Protecting Businesses from Raider Attacks»

EQUITY partner Andriі Ivaniv and senior associate Taras Shtokalo took part in the roundtable discussion «The Return of Raiding: Causes, Facts, Consequences,» representing the civic movement Manifest 42.

During the event, participants examined the increase in the number of hostile takeovers targeting  businesses, their key causes, and consequences. There have been numerous reports of mass seizures of companies through manipulation of state registers. These included forged documents, broken digital signatures, fictitious court decisions, and the lack of an adequate response from state authorities.

• During the discussion, Andriі Ivaniv presented examples of businesses appeals to Manifesto 42 concerning cases of raider attacks and emphasized the importance of the Ministry of Justice reviewing such complaints within the statutory deadlines.
• Taras Shtokalo highlighted the issue of delays in handling complaints in the area of state registration and proposed practical steps to improve the efficiency of the procedure.

As a result of the discussion, the participants agreed to initiate an appeal to the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine with the goal of conducting joint actions aimed at strengthening mechanisms to counter raider activity.
