EQUITY's Partner took part in the XI Western Ukrainian Forum

On June 20-21, Lviv hosted the XI Western Ukrainian Forum organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association.

The Forum is a tradition of meeting lawyers in the West of our country, where they discuss and raise pressing issues of the day, which pushes for positive changes in the legal sector.

Taras Poshyvanyuk, Partner at EQUITY, took part in the discussion of the second session of the forum, dedicated to "White Collar Crime Insights".

Together with the attorneys' community, the participants discussed problematic aspects and trends in the White Collar Crime market.

Experts discussed the development and expansion of the WCC market, which leads to a shortage of personnel, and found solutions to this problem.

The participants also came to the conclusion that it is important to introduce a military justice system and take joint measures to strengthen the independence of the legal profession as a whole.

As the volume of work in WCC's practice has increased due to the growing number of anti-corruption cases and work on the verge of compliance, the speakers discussed the possibilities of protecting multinational companies from reputational losses and pressure from law enforcement agencies.

During Session 2, the forum participants also elaborated on the issues of working with clients, moral aspects and considered the use of AI in the WCC practice.
