EQUITY Partner Oleksander Lysak Speaks at Legal High School to Share Experience of Working on High-Profile Case of Volodymyr Omelian
Recently, the Higher Anti-Corruption Court acquitted the Ex-Minister for Infrastructure, Volodymyr Omelian, defended by EQUITY attorneys-at-law.
Partner Oleksandr Lysak spoke at Legal High School to share his experience of working on this high-profile case.
He reminded the audience that the defense lawyer always protects interests of a person seeking legal assistance. While speaking, Oleksander said that Part 2 Article 211 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine imputed to the ex-minister was rarely used by law enforcement officers.
Analyzing the acquittal, the partner focused on peculiarities of investigation into the case, interrogation of witnesses, and also drew attention to the high quality of litigation, competitiveness of the process and preparation of judges.
“The prosecutor is likely to file an appeal. Our team is getting ready to stand for justice for the acquittal to remain in force,” said the defense lawyer.
We are thankful to Legal High School for their invitation. We are glad to share all our know-how with viewers!
