EQUITY partners held Master class for the students of the Legal High School

Within the framework of the LHS the EQUITY partners Yaroslav Zeykan and Oleksandr Lysak have hold the Master class on a topic: «The inadmissibility of evidences: strategy and tactics of protection in criminal process».

In course of the lecture, the partner told the audience about such important issues as evaluation evidences regarding their admissibility and belonging, as well as their significance for criminal proceedings. With the adoption of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in 2012, the institute of proof has become more regulated. “We have received the possibility to work with the Code which gives results”, - said Oleksandr Lysak. 

The lawyer also advised to prepare carefully for the trial:“There are no perfect cases but the result depends on your preparation”.

The second part of the Master class was held by Yaroslav Zeykan. The partner described the CPC of Ukraine as a hybrid model of procedural systems. On the one hand, the model of the American system, which focuses on the adversarial process, is taken into account. On the other hand, the CPC reflects the traditions of a continental system that is based on allegations. With such a system, the role of a lawyer strengthens. “He/she must use all the procedural possibilities as well as look for new “loopholes” in order to protect a client” – has emphasized Yaroslav Zeykan .
