EQUITY joins business protection initiative: drafting amendments to Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

EQUITY has joined a large-scale initiative led by the Committee on Business and Property Rights Protection of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine and contributed to drafting amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

The proposed draft law aims to clearly regulate the procedure for seizing property and accounts, including:

• Setting time limits on asset seizure during pre-trial investigations.
• Defining a clear deadline for returning property after seizure is lifted.
• Expanding defence rights, such as:
  - Mandatory video recording of searches by attorneys.
  - Strengthened appeal rights for businesses.
  - Improved access to pre-trial investigation materials.

The draft law has been officially registered and is now part of the legislative process!
