EQUITY team wins interim victory at HACC in OPP abuse of power case
On 23 February 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court denied NABU's request for a special pre-trial investigation (in absentia) against the former member of parliament Oleksandr Hranovskyi, who is suspected of organising a corruption scheme.
The permission for a special pre-trial investigation would allow the Specialised anti-corruption prosecutor's office to submit an indictment to the court and start a preparatory hearing in the absence of Mr Hranovskyi.
The NABU's motion has been under consideration since August 2023. The total period of investigation of the criminal proceedings lasts more than 8 years.
A large team of lawyers is working on the case. EQUITY is represented in court by attorneys Oksana Varakina and Olena Sidey.
