Hanna Yudkivska participated in the Hamburg conference on the future of the Ukrainian Constitution

Hanna Yudkivska, partner at EQUITY, co-organised and participated in a three-day conference in Hamburg dedicated to discussing the future of Ukrainian statehood and the formation of a new social contract. Held in partnership with the Bundeskanzler-Helmut-Schmidt Foundation and Europa-Kolleg Hamburg, the event provided a valuable platform for developing ideas for Ukraine's constitutional manifesto.
It is essential that discussions on the future constitution take place now, during these challenging times, so that Ukraine can emerge from the conflict with a qualitatively new state architecture.
The conference was attended by leading international and Ukrainian constitutionalists. Over three days, prominent scholars and practitioners from various countries discussed the most pressing issues regarding the future model of state structure with Ukrainian experts.
The conference provided an opportunity for in-depth professional conversations that demonstrated the high calibre of Ukraine's constitutional scholars.
«It was a moment to be proud of our brilliant colleagues,» said Hanna Yudkivska.

A notable feature was the online speech by Nobel Prize winner Oleksandra Matviychuk, who emphasised that every word of the new constitution must reflect the experiences of individuals who document crimes daily and understand the true cost of justice.
The organisers also honoured Hennadiy Druzenko, the ideologist of the constitutional manifesto, who is currently defending Ukraine on the battlefield instead of participating in the discussion. His absence symbolised the importance of work on the new Constitution.
For EQUITY, Hanna Yudkivska's participation exemplified how our team's experts can contribute to forming key ideas and influencing strategic processes. We are proud of such contribution to shaping the constitutional agenda, and we support her work in this important area for the country.
A long and complex discussion about the future of Ukrainian statehood lies ahead. We are grateful to our partners and organisers for providing a platform for this dialogue, which will help to shape Ukraine's legal framework.
