Oleh Malinevskyi and Andrii Ivaniv join discussion on protecting advocate's rights and reforming the bar

Oleh Malinevskyi, managing partner at EQUITY, vice president of the UAA, and Head of the UAA Committee on Litigation Practice and Andrii Ivaniv, counsel at EQUITY and Head of the UAA Committee on Asset Protection and Investor Right joined the discussion on key issues of legal practice and the reform of the bar. This includes the Law of Ukraine, «On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of Ukraine to Ensure Compliance with Guarantees of Legal Practice».

Participants of the roundtable emphasized that these changes comply with European standards and contribute to the independence of the legal profession and the protection of the rights of lawyers and their clients. They also noted that negative assessments of the adopted law are manipulative.

After the discussion, the Ukrainian Advocates Association decided to focus on promoting ideas that comply with European norms and standards for reforming the legal profession. The ultimate goal is to protect lawyers' rights, which guarantees the protection of their clients' rights, not confrontation.
