EQUITY Took Part in Round Table Discussion of Current Issues of Lawyer’s Participation in Criminal Procedure

Experts in criminal practice discussed current problems of the lawyer’s participation in a criminal procedure during the Odesa Round Table held on October 15.

The event was organized by EQUITY, the Barristers Law Firm, the Bar Council of Odesa oblast’ and the Ukrainian Bar Association.

Oleksandr Lysak, an EQUITY partner, who spoke about the lawyer’s request, shared his expertise and experience.

Apart from it, the speakers considered the right to defense in a criminal proceeding, cases of abusing this right and issues related to the defense providing effective legal assistance while using the rights enshrined in Part 3, Article 93 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

A part of the meeting was devoted to answering questions of participants and discussing problems attorneys-at-law are concerned with in their everyday practice.
