High-Profile Decision of Higher Anti-Corruption Court!

The Chamber of Appeal of the Higher Anti-Corruption Court is dispelling rumors concerning partial consideration of corruption cases!

In the high-profile case of “Kyiv custom officers” legally supported by EQUITY defense lawyers the panel of judges passed a unique ruling!

The motion of NABU detectives in regard to choosing a preventive measure has been denied in the full scope!!!

Moreover, representatives of the pre-trial investigation body asked the court in the aforementioned motion to choose for the suspect a preventive measure in the form of custody with the alternative bail in the amount of 57 million hryvnas.

Having considered the appeal of SAPO prosecutors and defence lawyers, the court came to the following conclusion

• Frivolousness of suspicion
• Lack of risks substantiating the need to choose a preventive measure

This is virtually the only case in the practice of anti-corruption courts when a suspect has been left without New Year present from prosecutors and detectives, namely a preventive measure.
