Parliament has strengthened the rights of criminal proceeding participants

Bohdan Slobodian, EQUITY Senior Associate, comments about the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving Observance of Rights of Criminal Proceeding Participants and Other Persons by Law-Enforcement Agencies in the course of Pre-trial Investigation.”

After examining the amendments to the Law, Bohdan Slobodian states that “The Law, in general, may be viewed as positive in terms of additional procedural safeguards, legal certainty as to unregulated issues of pre-trial investigation and compensation for damage caused by unlawful actions of investigators and prosecutors.”
