EQUITY counsels became acquainted with students on the career fair!

It is our duty to support students in such turbulent times. Only brave Ukrainians are able to build a career in a wartime. And we will definitely help with this!

Yesterday, EQUITY counsels Mykhailo Lutskyy and Andriy Ivaniv became acquainted with their future colleagues, talked about working at #EQUITY and shared some tips that had helped them to become successful lawyers.

Andriy Ivaniv spoke about Soft skills vs. Hard skills: What do employers pay attention to first when they are in a job interview?

Short Summary:

  • Soft skills that are important for our team: stress resistance, healthy competition, time management, ability to adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments;
  • Hard skills are checked in the process of work. University education is important, but also you will definitely get additional knowledge during the internship;
  • Be honest during the first interview. Do not over-praise yourself. An open dialogue will allow the employer to assess you correctly and build a healthy working relationship in the future;

Mykhailo took part in the panel discussion "Your legal career in Ukraine"

He answered students' questions and noted that the legal business, like us, has passed all levels of existence: from the existential crisis, quiescence and to the gradual recovery that is taking place now.

Tips from Mykhailo:

  • «Every company is looking for effective mechanisms of war damages recovery caused by russia. This area is completely new and open, so it will be very useful for young lawyers to monitor it.»
  • «Be flexible and accept changes in the daily schedule that may not coincide with your expectations. Pay attention to mistakes, show involvement»

Thank you for the interesting questions which we received! We wish professional heights for every student!
